Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. She currently holds the position of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the owner of the National Basketball Association. Buss is an California born and raised in a wealthy family. Jerry Buss, her father was a successful entrepreneur with a real estate business who later was the owner of Lakers Entertainment and Sports. In the event that her parents divorced in 1972 she felt that they had abandoned her. At the age of 19 she was able to take over her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. The team was later renamed an organization called the Los Angeles Blades, a professional team of roller hockey. She also served as director of the Great Western Forum before assuming the position of vice president for the Lakers. Buss was the father of her deceased father in 2013, which is when the Lakers were inherited from him by her as well as five of her siblings by way of the trust. Every sibling was entitled to the same number of votes. Buss assumed the position as president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also a co-owner of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling organization based within Los Angeles.
